I trained with Joe twice, once in Newtown PA back in the seventy's and once at a Tiger Schulman's camp in the Poconos . At camp Greeley in the Poconos Joe and I were the first ones up on saturday morning and he was going to teach a class on an outdoor tennis court. The nats and Mosquitos were eating us alive as we warmed up, just him and I, and it was quiet, morning quiet. I'm a bug magnet so I ran back to my lodge to get bug spray. I sprayed Joe head to toe and as a joke when he was spraying me he spritzed me in the ear laughing his ass off. There is no point to this story but it's a fond memory of a truly great Martial Artist.
Joe Lewis, Bill Wallace, Jeff Smith, Benny "the Jet" Urquedez, Doctor Jerry Beasley and Dan Anderson are names that should NEVER be forgotten. They brought the martial arts to the public and are LEGENDS.
